Amsterdam: a dynamic city where people live, work, shop and play. Of course, it's a city of charming canals that has a rich history, but it's also a city of culture, with hundreds of reastaurants and an exciting nightlife. Amsterdam is the financial and economic heart of the Netherlands, located near Airport Schiphol.

Museumplein 5 is situated in the South district of Amsterdam, known as the Museum Quarter, The Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and Concert Hall attract millions of visitors every year and are all located at Museumplein.
Museumplein 5 was built in the mid fifties of the 20th century in a style known as ‘Functionalism’. As a result of this efficient way of building, Museumplein 5 still has not lost any of its functionaliry. This was the point of departure for choosing sustainable and energy-efficient techniques and materials, such as cold and heat storage and very thin double glazing units.

In addition, the airconditioning system uses the heat of the returned air. Museumplein 5 is therefore ready for the decades to come of ‘Sustainable Functionalism’.
Museumplein 5 consists of a basement, ground floor and five floors. The building's square shape and the compactness of the secondary functions - such as the staircase, elevator and sanitary
facilities situated in the heart os the building - ensure that every square meter has been used as efficiently as possible. Both the first and fifth floor have roof terraces.
